Hello everyone!
If you are new here - my name is Lauren and it’s so nice to meet you :)
A quick update: Not that much has happened in my life outside the computer since the last time I wrote something here. School is still a little stressful, but it isn’t that bad and I really do enjoy some of the classes. I have also spent a lot of time with friends lately, but that isn’t something new either.
So, the reason that I decided to blog today was not to tell you that not much has happened in my life - It was to tell you that apparently my little sister, Caitlyn, has become internet famous. (And no, it’s not because of Tik Tok).
What happened was that my little sister heard the news about Notre Dame, and wanted to help in some way.
I remember we talked a little bit about it after listening to the news on the radio, and then she said something about it being very sad - since it was such an old and nice building. We didn’t really talk that much more about it, but it was clear that it didn’t leave her thoughts.
A little later, she realized that she had some euros left from show and tell at school, and figured out that she could send them to France to help build up Notre Dame. I helped her to send it to the Fondation du Patrimoine, and she attached a handwritten letter to it:
“Dear people of France and Paris. My name is Caitlyn and I am nine years old. I live in England. I heard about the Notre Dame fire on the radio and wanted to help. I know it’s not much but every bit helps. Hopefully it won’t take long to build. Thanks; Caitlyn.”
The letter ended up getting national and global attention, and ended up in the news. We had no idea that this was going to happen, and we’re all very proud of her.
Here’s a link to a news article about the case, if you want to check it out: https://www.thewestmorlandgazette.co.uk/news/17613444.south-lakes-girl-gets-global-media-attention-after-donating-money-to-help-rebuild-notre-dame/?ref=rss
Hi Lauren! I'm glad you enjoy some classes in school and that you spend a lot of time with your friends. It is important to be with friends too and not constantly focus on school. Omg, your sister is too pure, so sweet and kind! You have a heroic sister and you better take good care of her! :) Maybe your sister inspired you to change the world for the better too? ;) Love from Grace O´Connor.
SvarSlettTouching, very sweet :-)
