When did it become okay to punch and hold down your classmates?

Hey everyone!

I really wanted to write a happy blogpost, but it happened something very terrible at the school I go to, and I have to write about it. It happened at Alsop High School in Liverpool. We sat in class and had a normal history class, when an autistic girl called Amy McAloon got punched and hold down by some of our classmates.

There was some of our classmates who shouted, “punch her”. The whole incident got filmed and posted on social media. I think it is so sad that things like this happens, and that it happened in my class. I am glad that I was at the dentist that day and didn’t witness the incident. Amy is such a nice person, and she is very kind. I doesn’t see differently on her just because she has autism, and I think nobody should.

It makes me so mad that the society have become like this. When did it become okay to punch and hold down your classmates? It makes me sick and I can`t believe it.
Our school says that they take any allegations of bullying extremely seriously and the well-being of their pupils. I hope that there will be consequences for the students that punched, filmed the incident and shouted, “punch her”.

I will just encourage everyone to be a friend, if you see someone who needs it, be there for them. It can matter so much more to that person than you think.
Bullying is not okay.

  1. Are you serious? This is some of the worst things that I have read in a while. When did it become ok to punch someone just because they are "different"? I'm actually so pissed off right now, I don't really know what to say. I'm speechless... We live in such a cruel world.

  2. Hmmm. Not good. Makes me wonder what your school does NOT do to prevent these kinds of incidents. Amateurs!
