Hello there, my
name is James White Smith and I will write about my experience the tenth of
May.
So, the tenth of
May me and my mom and dad were in a town near Cambridge called March. We were
there to visit my grandmother and grandfather. On our way over to them we
walked past the Acre Pub near the March Library, when suddenly armed police
showed up and arrested a man. I was a little scared when the police arrived. I
have never been in a situation that has involved the police before. So, this
was completely new for me. And as I stated earlier the police were armed. I
thought something big was going to go down. But they arrested him pretty easily
with no big problems.
My mom asked a
policeman what had happened after they had arrested the man and the policeman
said that the man was suspected for carrying a firearm, but that the situation
was under control. Normal people carrying firearms in public is scary. I mean
this is England, not freaking America. And after seeing all of the fucked up
stuff happening in the world involving crazy people and terrorists and all that
stuff it’s scary to think that a random person on the street could just be
carrying a firearm around. Luckily, we found out later that the man didn’t have
a real firearm, but just a replica. Why would someone walk around with a
replica of a gun? It just seems so bizarre. Well I’m pretty sure it’s illegal
either way so that guy is probably in jail now.
Good thing the
police were fast at moving out and arresting him, even though it was a fake gun.
It seems like the police are very careful when it comes to guns and gun
control. It makes me feel a lot safer at least. I think people should just have
guns for hunting, but that it should be really strict. But what if someone uses
a hunting rifle for something illegal, like breaking into my house and taking
my family’s expensive stuff. Damn, guns are really troublesome. So in conclusion
just don’t have guns in public, no matter if they are fake or not.

Good point! You remember that black kid, only twelve or so, in America, what's his name, who got shot by the police because they thought he carried a real gun! But that was a replica, too. Toy guns ought to be red or yellow or something. Or, just play with other toys :-)
